Upholstery foam is sometimes referred to as Foam Rubber, Sponge Rubber Polyurethane or Poly Foam.
Foam cushions are the most common filler used in upholstery applications. We also do Down, Spring Core and Polyester batting fill cushions. We fill foam cushion orders on a daily basis. Our foam inventory includes four different grades of foam. We stock each grade of foam in even sizes one through six inches thick. Each foam cushion order is cut and filled on a custom basis. Most of the foam cushion orders that we fill are used in upholstery applications.
This includes but is not limited to:
Replacement foam for furniture cushions.
Sofa cushions.
Chair cushions.
love-seat cushions.
Camper, RV and trailer cushions.
Dining chair seat cushions and pads.
Foam cores for down wrapped cushions.
Window cushions.
Lawn, pool, patio and porch cushions.
Mattress and bed top cushions or pads.
Memory foam beds.
Special wedge shaped cushions used mainly for medical convalescent applications.
As part of our Foam Cut to Size service for cushions we wrap the cushion core in a layer of Dacron wrap. This extra step in the cushion building process has three main purposes.
Foam will conduct heat and the Dacron will add a layer of insulation to your cushion.
Foam products inherently possess a great deal of friction. The Dacron wrap gives your upholstery cushion cover a longer life by eliminating the friction between your fabric and foam.
The Dacron wrap will add loft, a belly or a crown to your cushion and look more inviting rather than a rectangular foam block.
As professional Upholsterers we highly recommend this extra layer of cushioning for your seating comfort.
